Overlooking the gorgeous Connecticut Countryside, at Allen Hill Tree Farm, Mel and Brendan were joined in marriage. This was by far the most relaxed wedding I have ever been a part of. I think it could be the definition of “Chill Vibes Only.” They didn’t want the stress and hassle, just the fun – and that is exactly what they got. Every detail was so organized and perfectly planned that the couple and their guests were able to sit back and play!
Mel thought of everything!!! Each little detail that make their day unique and special did not go unnoticed. She was smart enough to wear sneakers all day, too…now that’s my kind of girl!
I want to share with you the words from their officiant, my husband, who had the honor of performing the wedding ceremony.
“Dr. Seuss said, We are a little weird and life is a little weird, and when we find someone who’ weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.”
I don’t think there has ever been a quote that defines human beings better than that one. We are all a little weird in our own ways, and it’s a blessing when we find someone to be our own weird selves around forever. Brendan and Mel have found each other and today is about two weird people coming together to promise to always be weird together no matter what life may throw their way.This journey started 7 years ago when Brendan was visiting his friend Ben in college. According to Ben it was love at first sight and the rest is history.
Mel remembered after that first date how much she really liked Brendan, even though Brendan wasn’t sure he wanted to date a girl from Massachusetts who was a Red Sox fan (Brendan is a Yankees fan!).
What sealed the deal was after a month of talking back and forth, Brendan and Mel sat in the car listening to country music and singing along to every song was Brendan! Mel knew that this was the man for her. Her aunt confirmed it by joking she was dating the boy version of herself!
A few years later, we are standing here today, celebrating a couple who cannot remember a time when they were apart. Their bond has grown stronger over the years, and now they are ready to make the commitment to each other as husband and wife.”
From the first step on the farm’s property to the last dance – Mel & Brendan had a perfect day and deserved every minute of it. Special thanks to the vendors who made this day even more amazing!
