Sarah and Mike are getting married!!! Their wedding is next summer in York, Maine their “happy place.” This little quaint New England beach town holds some very special memories for this couple and is the perfect setting for the relaxed and fun wedding they are planning at the Union Bluff Hotel.
I had the pleasure of photographing Mike’s sister’s wedding two years ago and immediately fell in love with this awesome family and how much fun they are. Mike was a blast to be around and now to get to know him and Sarah has been amazing. We connected on so many levels and that made this session even easier to photograph.
We started in the little downtown area of York, and in April this place is very quiet! We loved having free range to explore and we were the only ones on the beach that evening. Sarah and Mike have such a passion for life and each other. They are a perfect fit and needed no help or direction from me. Every pose was effortless and fun – just like them! Even though it was chilly out – they played just like it was summertime.
We headed to Nubble Lighthouse and enjoyed the crashing of the waves and one of New England’s most iconic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Lighthouses are the perfect metaphor for marriage. Just like a lighthouse the person you marry should be a beacon of light in your life. When everything is going wrong they are there welcoming you home and being the light in the darkness of our world. Sarah and Mike, you have found that perfect person to come home to, share life and comfort with and I am honored to capture your love story!
After I captured this next photo I literally screamed “POST CARD!!!” This setting and this couple couldn’t be more beautiful. The laughter, love, and joy they share is as epic as this scenery!
We were a bit too cold to wait for the actual sunset, but the silhouette below was worth waiting in the chilly air for! Congrats again Sarah & Mike – I’ll see you next July!
