I was so excited when Karen reached out to me for some wintry family photos in New Hampshire. I worked with this sweet momma a few years back and its been so awesome to see her love and family grow! When she met Chris, every one knew he was PERFECT for her and they are so cute together. Now, they have a sweet baby boy to add to the joy!
Elijah’s first Christmas was definitely an occasion worth capturing! Though the snow had melted in Massachusetts we met in New Hampshire for a beautiful Christmas Tree farm photo shoot and lots of snow! At the just the right moment, the golden light came, and though it looks cold it was very pleasant out! Weekday sessions aren’t always an option for every couple, but thanks to Chris and Karen’s schedule we were able to pull this off and really relax and enjoy a wonderful session.
Often times couples wonder if a mini session is right for their family, or a full “custom” portrait session. In this case, it was a joy to have extra time, allow them to warm up in their car a bit, and get Elijah used to having a camera in his face! It didn’t take long, and he was ready for smiles and loved all the attention. Another benefit of a full family session is customizing the time of day and the location. This is an area that can’t be used for mini sessions (parking issues, it is a private farm, and lighting only is ideal for a short period of time), so it was perfect for the Kottig family. The last half of the session were “extra” shots and I LOVE them! Though we had all we needed for an ideal Christmas card, we were then able to play more and relax while photographing this family how they interact and love one another.
