I met this beautiful family during my beach mini sessions at Wingaersheek Beach. Their family photo shoot, with two sweet girls, was at the most beautiful time of golden hour when the sun was setting on the water. We had a wonderful time playing in the sand and jumping in puddles. There is just something so sweet about sisters in matching dresses that makes me smile. These two loved dancing and showing off their moves. But, the sweetest part of our time together was when their oldest handed her dad a seashell and said, “This is for you and mommy because you’re the best mommy and daddy in the world!” My heart melted and its moments like this, away from our schedules and our devices that we connect with our children and they connect back and share the moment in time with us. A reminder that life is good and family photos can be an amazing time of togetherness.

HOW DID YOU DECIDE THAT THIS WAS THE RIGHT TIME TO HIRE A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER? We try to get professional family photos taken once a year. I came across Allie’s photos on Instagram and thought they were all so beautiful. When I saw she was having a mini session at the beach that week and had one slot open it seemed like an easy decision!
HOW DID YOU PLAN YOUR FAMILY’S CLOTHING? For the color scheme, I looked at other family beach session pictures (on both Allie’s page and Pinterest).
I love how they decided to keep it simple and add a touch of blue and Ellie’s peach bow is just precious! Laura did a great job choosing outfits around what she loved to wear and felt comfortable in. I love when “mom” can feel confident and shine! If all else fails, mom should choose what she loves to wear and coordinate everyone else around it.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF THE SESSION? Our children LOVE the beach and they were so happy! Allie was so great with the kids. It was such a fun night!
