North Shore Family Photos at Lynch Park

On a warm September evening I met with the Mullen family for photos at Lynch Park. On the North Shore, this park is one of my most favorite locations. The beautiful gardens and ocean views, are stunning and I was so excited to photograph this crew there.
A lot of changes took place for this family over quarantine, but one thing that certainly has NOT changed is the BIG LOVE they have for one another. It is clear that these parents are building strong loving bonds with their children and truly soak up every moment with their little ones. Their connection with each other makes my job so easy and creates a fun evening together.

I’m a firm believer in making portrait session a “family experience.” How to achieve that is simple: Plan ahead and talk to your children about what to expect and what we’ll do during our time together. Instead of telling your kids, “It’s time for photos” let them be a part of the experience. Discuss what types of photos they would like. Explain to them that there will be lots of cuddling, laughing and playing. When your kids feel like this is more than just “smiling for the camera” they are instantly more invested and are happier to be there.

The Mullen family’s session was also in celebration of their youngest’s first birthday. Take a look back at his newborn session here. Parker lived almost all of his first year in quarantine, but never felt alone with his big siblings and parents attention. He is so funny and was showing off with lots of smiles and clapping.
