This lovely family welcomed twins into their home this winter! These two sweet babies spent many weeks in the hospital after being born very early, in late November. So, by the time I had met them their adjusted age was only “two weeks” old, even though they had been in this world much longer.
Alexandra and Sebastian have been eating well and growing without any major setbacks since they were born at just over 4lbs each.
It was so great to do a lifestyle session to get a glimpse into “life with twin babies.” As you can imagine, when one is awake, the other is sleeping. When one needs to eat – so does the other. Diaper and outfit changes, spit up, and warming up bottles is all consuming. But – in the midst of all of it, there are moments of peace. Moments of joy when you see the little ones smile, hear them coo, and especially when both fall peacefully to sleep.
The other wonderful moments to capture were between their mom and dad. They have an amazing love story that spans continents and should really be made into a movie!!! From their first date in Iceland, they purchased a puffin and knew they wanted the children – they even chose Alexandra’s name! After a whirlwind romance and Maria moving to America they started on a family. With the help of IVF these babies are now here and the dreams of being a family came true. Maria couldn’t stop praising her husband and his self-less acts for their family. Samuli looks at her with so much love and is happy to help in any way, thankful for how hard she worked to bring these little ones safely into this world.
I wish this whole family tons more love and adventure as these twins change and grow – I also wish them more sleep than they’ve had in the last few weeks!
