Christmas in July // Planning your Summer Photo Session

NOW BOOKING JULY & AUGUST 2017 : Summer Family Portraits

When planning your Christmas card photo every year, the obvious approach is taking photos in the fall or winter to create a card right before Christmas. This plan is great, and exactly what I do with my own family. However, I have some “outside the box” clients and family members who plan their photos far in advance. Here are five benefits of doing so.

1. Summer Schedules are so much more flexible. It’s easier to plan summer sessions for you and your family. Kids are out of school and often have less activities their committed to.

2. Tanned & Rested. It’s proven that New Englanders are more tan and rested in the summer months (it’s science!).  We all “relax” a little bit and love spending time outside, far away from our winter indoor activities. The lush greenery and blue skies create an inviting backdrop whether at a popular location or your own backyard!

3. Eliminate Holiday Stress: Just think – you could actually take your time choosing the perfect card, not have to pay for “rush shipping”, and maybe even save some money! Planning in advance and printing your cards early can eliminate Holiday stress. It’ll be one less thing to think about. Your cards could be stamped, addressed, and ready before Thanksgiving if you desired! Here are a few summer photo Christmas cards I received this year featuring Allie.PHOTO clients!

4. The Beach. Need I say more!? The beach is the perfect place for family photos and during the summer months, its warm & inviting. I’ll be hosting Beach Mini Sessions this August but if you want a custom, full family session its not too early to book ahead!

5. The sun stays out later in the evening so we have more time slots to choose from and weekday evenings are available so you don’t have to use your precious weekends for family photos. Golden hour and sunset sessions are my favorite. Give the kiddos their evening bath and take them out for a beautiful evening, around 7:30 p.m. to get amazing light!
