I think everyone can agree that Fall is the perfect time for outdoor family photos. With a new baby in the home, adding your bundle of joy is a must! I often meet families in their own home for newborn photos, but outdoors on a nice day is a great option too.
Natalie was born early September and is absolutely adored by her parents and big brother. He was so sweet looking at her, and trying to give her kisses. The bond between a brother and his little sister is soooooo sweet and I love capturing that. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing this family grow from a couple with a pup to parents with two kids!
If you added a new addition to your family, or are planning to here are some tips for indoor or outdoor newborn sessions to keep in mind:
Tips for Newborn Photo Session
- Please feed your little one right before the session begins. That way they are comfortable and full.
- If you do not want me to swaddle the baby, please have him or her wear a very fitted outfit to show off their tiny size. When baby clothes are too large it takes away the petite baby features. You can also bring a swaddle from home. Something with a small pattern or solid color is perfect, if it matches your coordinated outfits.
- If you’re planning spring or fall outdoor newborn photos, then you should be sure to bring a blanket to hold your little one in. Grab a blanket that coordinates with your outfits so if they need to be held it accents the photos and doesn’t distract.
- Keep it simple for the rest of the family’s outfits. Wear an outfit that is solid or very small patterned so your baby stands out.
